The Institute of Operational Risk England and Wales Chapter is pleased to invite its members to join an afternoon seminar and discussion on the topic of Risk and Incentives.

What are the risks to customers from financial incentives of the sales personnel? Are Operational Risk Departments involved in reviewing staff performance schemes and providing input into compensation decisions? What motivates good behaviours, and what encourages inappropriate behaviours?

We are delighted to have four very interesting speakers address the subject from different perspectives. Jacqui Boyd and Natalie Duranton, FCA, will summarise the findings of the thematic work completed by the FCA into financial incentives which assessed whether firms are managing risks to consumers (full text of the thematic review can be found here: http://www.fca.org.uk/firms/being-regulated/meeting-your-obligations/firm-guides/systems/risks-to-customers-from-financial-incentives). Jennifer Moodie, Santander, will provide practitioner’s perspective on how Operational risk inputs into the development of culture and performance of the organization, and David Royston-Lee, chartered business psychologist, will talk about engaging the hearts, heads and minds of the employees.

We are very grateful to Santander for hosting this event, at 100 Ludgate Hill, EC4M 7RE.
