We are delighted to say that our guest speaker and facilitator for this event will be Dr Simon Ashby.
Simon will be known to many of you from the KRI session he led at our Annual Conference last October. He is currently Associate Professor (Senior Lecturer) in Financial Services at Plymouth Business School having previously held senior roles in a number of financial services organisations and the Operational Risk Policy team of the FSA.
We are looking forward to welcoming Simon to Edinburgh and not only because he is a Fellow of the Institute and our Vice Chairman. In association with colleagues from the Centre for the Analysis of Risk and Regulation at the London School of Economics, Simon has been awarded a grant to undertake research into ŒRisk Culture in Financial Organisations. He is also leading the development of a new Sound Practice Guidance paper for the IOR on this subject.
This promises to be an interesting and enjoyable evening and the topic will lend itself to an open discussion, which has proved to be a popular format at previous events. This will be a unique opportunity for you to share your experience and views and contribute to the research and development work that Simon is leading, as well as benefiting from the contributions of your colleagues in other organisations.
4:30pm reception, the session will run from 5:00pm until 6:30pm.
