Dear Member,

The England & Wales Chapter of the Institute of Operational Risk is pleased to invite you to its upcoming event. The theme of the event is the modelling of operational risk and whether it has brought any value to management of it, and the format is a traditional debate. The event will be followed by a drinks reception kindly sponsored by Chase Cooper.

The Chairman of the debate is Professor Tony Blunden – Head of Consulting at Chase Cooper Limited.

Our speakers include Philip Umande (Head of Operational Risk Capital, Lloyds Banking Group), Professor Rodney Coleman (Honorary Senior Research Fellow, Imperial College) and Alex Marcuson (Marcuson Consulting).

4pm – Welcome from the Chapter Chairman and Introduction from Tony Blunden the event Chairman

4-05 – Vote on the motion

4-10 –  Opening presentations in favour of the motion

4-30 –  Opening presentations against the motion

4-50 – Discussion and Q&A with the audience

5-35 – Closing statements by both sides

5-50 – Vote on the motion

5-55 – Chairman closing remarks

Followed by a drinks reception until 8pm and an opportunity to try a working operational risk model.
