Caroline Coombe is the Chief Executive of ORIC International. ORIC International is the leading operational risk consortium for the (re)insurance and asset management sector globally. One of ORIC International’s key aims and it’s common purpose is to advance operational risk management and measurement. Caroline has been deeply involved in the formulation of leading practice for the sector, working with world class operational risk professionals from ORIC International’s member firms, leading academics, industry and professional associations.
She has over 15 years’ experience in risk; specialising in framework development, benchmarking and assurance provision. Caroline has considerable practical experience having designed, developed and implemented operational risk approaches which underpin regulatory capital calculation, including scenario assessment and loss data collection. She has conducted extensive research into the use of external data sources to identify, manage and quantify risk.
Prior to this she worked for Aspen Insurance, Barclays and the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) in Group Strategy & Framework and Divisional risk roles.
Caroline is a Certified Fellow of the Institute of Risk Management and a Director of the Institute of Operational Risk (IoR).
